Deveraux Donates to North Central Family Centre

During the 2017 holiday season Deveraux won a Christmas tree decorating contest put on by the new Regina subdivision Eastbrook on the Greens. By winning Deveraux was able to select a charity of choice to donate $1,000 towards. There are so many great partners and charities that Deveraux works with, so the decision was extremely tough, but in the end selected Sandy and her staff at the North Central Family Centre. This is an organization that Deveraux recently renovated their kitchen, trim, flooring, paint and interior doors. This organization makes every dollar stretch as far as possible by ensuring no dollar or learning opportunity goes to waste. Below is a letter written to Deveraux by Sandy Wankle after we presented her with the $1,000 donation;

The North Central Family Centre wishes to thank Deveraux Development for your tremendous support over the years.

We deeply appreciate you choosing our charity for your donation of $1,000.00 from your “Christmas Tree Decorating” event.

The North Central Family Centre provides the environment which stimulates children, youth and families in the community to find, develop and execute solutions to the issues and challenges they face in daily life.

The “at risk” youth population of Regina’s North Central community has historically experienced enormous economic and social hardships. Poverty, family instability, drugs, prostitution, gang activities are some of the challenges our youth face on a daily basis.

We are so grateful for your donation because it will give us the opportunity to buy two sewing machines, material and beads for our Girl’s Self-Esteem program.

Part of this program is entrepreneur based that allows our youth to run their own business.

They sew purses and design and make jewelry which they sell over Facebook and at the Regina Exhibition.

This program teaches money management and helps gives them the means to buy clothes and everyday necessity’s in life. It also teaches initiative, brings out their creativity and gives the girls a sense of accomplishment.

Thank you again for supporting our youth as we work together in insuring our children and youth feel inclusive and productive, and will be given the opportunity to take their rightful place in their community with pride.

-Sandy Wankle, North Central Family Centre
